"if the president can do it, so can I." Is that what she said? That makes no sense whatsoever, I'm glad she's facing consequences, but it's only after it happened. We still have a long way to go for the police to arrest her on the spot, like they should have.

She somehow doesn't see the difference between talking about it on camera and actually doing it on camera. Unfortunately I don't think she will learn her lesson from this. She will probably try to rationalize her behavior so that she can tell a completely twisted version of the venets years later.

You're using logic. that's the problem.

Think like a feminist-"if the president can do it, so can I." Translated--if one man can do it, then using my class-based inter sectional-feminist identity politics, I will use that to give myself an entitlement to do the same to the class of all men.

I know it doesn't make sense, it's class-based identity politics.

Good hopefully she will get a conviction , cant help but shake the nagging feeling that somehow it will end up all the mans fault and she will get off and play the victim...……………..

[–]xfceice 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I doubt that she will get a serious conviction. And it’s because of the nature of the scenario.

She assaulted him after Shroyer essentially claimed assault “wasn’t a big deal.” He also said that he “didn’t care” that she just did that, but that if a man had done it he’d be grabbed by the police in no time.

Given his background statements on sexual assault and harassment, I think her defense will reasonably argue that Shroyer pushed the case not because he was traumatized or suffered injustice from the assault, but because he wishes to expose the hypocrisy of the reverse-gendered scenario. I’m not sure how strong this would be in court, that’s just my inclination.

good, I was hoping she would get caught.

Am I the only one that thinks, this is just not that bad and that we're overcriminalizing sexual behavior?

At worst she should get a 200$ fine.

[–]TheAndredal[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

it's illegal dude... WTF

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Right, what do you think I meant by "overcriminalizing" how about we make it not illegal? At least not something that lands you in jail.

It's like we're making natural sexual behavior illegal. And then it's mostly the dumbasses that end up with children.

[–]TheAndredal[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

so sexual assault should be made legal... Right...

Straight up grabbing someone's genitals is pretty severe.

But I've gotten might ass grabbed before, and I don't think the woman that did that should face any real repercussion from it.

Someone going down the street and running after people to grab their ass is one thing.

But grabbing someone's ass in a club, or bar, (depending on the club / bar) or at an adult fair with sexual undertones (e.g. octoberfest) is just not as big a deal.

I sure as hell wouldn't do it. It is way too dangerous for a man to do that to a woman. Unless you're already a criminal, then you can afford the risk and it makes it much easier to get laid. Because, and I might be teaching you something here, most girls actually like it when a guy does that (if she finds him attractive).

I don’t feel sorry for her.

But that reporter is only exposing his own hypocrisy in taking her to court.

If he really had a problem with sexual assault and harassment, he wouldn’t try so hard to excuse Trump’s behavior.

But he did, and he continues to. In the women’s march video, he acknowledges its “not ok” but says “yeah, so what, I don’t think it’s a big deal” when one protestor mentioned Trump’s leaked video bothered him. He has done the same in previous videos....where he attempts to expose the stupidity of the other side.

In one video, two male students he confronted brought the same incident to attention, and he interrupted them saying “so you’re telling me you’ve never said something like that with your friends?” , in attempt to justify that sort of behavior. One of the two kids said something along the lines of “absolutely not, why would I have the need to?” to which he responded something like “wow! we have an ideal man here ..”

Doesn’t that say something about the way Shroyer views men? That there? He implies that this “lockeroom banter” is typical. If he HIMSELF thinks that, why in the hell aren’t people crying “misandry!!” at him?

You don't take people to court on criminal charges, she is being prosecuted.

I am really sorry for her. She has probably been endoctrinated with rhetoric that told her she was allowed to do it ( an eye for an eye ).
And now she will suffer the consequences of an act she could have avoided if she was not caught in a mob mentality...
EDIT : I am not saying she should get off free, she committed an assault and should be punished for it. What I am saying is that she was manipulated by the narrative to think that info-wars was bad and she would be in her right to do so just to prove a point. I imagine that she is not a monster and would not have committed this act if the narrative and the mob didn't push her

[–]Sidoney 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She's an adult and she sexually assaulted someone. Why tf do you feel sorry for her? Would you say the same if the genders were reversed? Do you feel sorry for guys who believe it's ok to sexually assault females?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She committed the an act that she was in part protesting against. She deserves the book thrown at her.
