It's great. After 40 years of anti-male advertising, a turning point has been reached. Ignoring it for forty years. Now hitting back. We've been ridiculously patient. While I try not to carry hatred with me, I sincerely hope this does real visible damage to P & G as a warning to all the rest of them.

Hey there, I will tell you why it's upsetting.

It says is this the best we could get? Well, I am not a rapist or bully or someone who harass women. And I see that most men are good. This ad portrays that most men are bad and should change... it does not recognize that most men are good.

It ignores the fact that girls can also be bullies. The media have no issue with sexually harassing men but yet this ad blames men instead of how some cultures normalize sexual harassment and take it as a compliment.

So basically it sounds like, hey you bullies-rapists stop doing that and buy our products.

I am not denying that some men are bad, not supporting rape and bullying and sexual harassment. The thing is, it's really ignorant to call all men are bad.

We've done that. Again and again, over the years. And again. And it keeps going on, it never stops, it gets worse and worse, and, finally, it dawns on the general consciousness that it won't ever stop unless it is stopped.

It’s hard to tell with the internet anymore, everything is so sponsored that it’s more likely the whole kerfluffle is just mailing lists giving lonely people a chance to find shared sentiment online.

A guy posted himself “throwing out” Gillette products — a worn bottle of cheapo 2-in-1 shampoo, a single disposable razor cartridge, some other bottle of crap. All looking pretty dead, total financial exposure $5.

Shaving companies have been dying recently, male consumers aren’t scared of electric trimmers anymore, it’s common knowledge that cheap shampoos and disposable razors suck.

Short answer yes it’s fake, most men would never have seen the ad without sponsored outrage, most of the outrage is the same people yelling at town meetings about lunatic stuff.

I'm not at all angry. I'm quite impressed with the response.

I'm more concerned about changes to APA guidelines which will leave boys and men unable to trust mental health professionals to act in the best interests of male clients/patients.
