It stays free — no paywall, no account — for the next man who comes looking, the way it was free for you.

You're a man. You're wonderful. You're not flawed, toxic, problematic, or defective. You're wonderful BECAUSE you're a man. Get used to the idea.

Have male buddies.

That's all you can do.

If we men don't learn to care about each other, no one will be left to care about any of us.

The last bit sounds like something on a motivational poster or something, lol.

I hear a lot about women objecting to husbands/boyfriends going out. It seems guys are more likely to cave it, thereby losing their friends. It comes back to bite the man after a breakup.

Men didn't used to let women control them like this.

I've had 3 friends get married/into long term ("de facto") relationships over the past 5 years and the pattern has always been the same.

At first it's an increase in the number times plans have to be cancelled because the wife/girlfriend had some last minute thing they needed him for or conflicting plans that she made without telling him that always end up taking priority.

Then after a while the excuses stop and it's just that he can't come out / have his mates over / get online for a gaming session just because the wife/girlfriend doesn't want him to. At this point "happy wife, happy life" and similar lines start coming out of his mouth with alarming frequency.

Eventually it just becomes extremely difficult to communicate with the guy at all and he's available so infrequently and talks to the rest of us so little that we often don't even think about inviting him anymore because the answer will always be "no."

Bonus round: One of the guys is openly bisexual but married to a woman (who has known about his orientation the whole time, so it's not a post-marriage surprise or anything), and she has said to me quite openly and matter-of-factly that she "won't let" him go out with his friends because he might get "too friendly with the boys". He has never been unfaithful to her with either sex, but she cheated on him at least once while they were dating.

Stop being a doosh to women?... Maybe someone would want to make you a bit less lonely then...?.?

That's rich in an environment where it's considered an olympic sport for women aged 30+ to whine about the dearth of "good men" and how they're miserably lonely. You can't hear a peep from most men though.
