I'm pursuing a divorce from my wife. We're mid-30s, no kids, NY metro area. I don't think she sees this coming. I'm not interested in screwing over my wife--we don't have many assets even if that were the case. Rather, I would like to use the advantage of preparedness to make the divorce as fair and quick as possible.
This week, I'm meeting with an attorney via a service that provides free consultations and referrals. I wonder what you fellas would've liked to have been able to ask an attorney BEFORE you started meeting with lawyers for the purpose of hiring one.
Sorry for the open-ended question. This just seems like a rare opportunity, and I want to take full advantage.
