Review for British government reveals top 10 "worst excuses" for not appointing female executives. One is "there aren't any vacancies at the moment". Another is "I can't just appoint a woman because I want to". Those are REASONS, not excuses!

In the related news article:

A decade ago, he said, men would "have had a problem convincing police" they were the victims of abuse.

Then later:

"Because Mr Edwards was a solicitor it does show that it can happen to all men of all backgrounds from all professions," Mr Brooks warned.

A fucking lawyer knew that there was nothing he could do!! Stop with the bullshit that men are well received by domestic violence institutions!

That last line.

The jury was told how Mr Edwards wore make-up on their wedding day to hide his injuries.

A Chorley Council domestic homicide review found two GPs had failed to ask the solicitor how he was injured, as did Chorley Hospital's A&E unit in July 2015.

I believe this question is routine for injured women.

He told a paramedic about the abuse but a failure to follow procedures meant the report was not escalated to managers.

Passive voice. Just another anonymous failure. No attribution of blame, no impetus to do anything.

A perception that men were not domestic abuse victims may have contributed to the situation, the report concluded.

Lackadaisical passivity continues.

If only he were a women, that was a man. This type of thing inspires campaigns when they are a woman. Inquiries, jobs lost, headlines for months, ribbons worn on the anniversary.

But since he is a dude, he was let down. Shrug.
