Something about racial fetishes just creeps me out. Like I understand people have preference, but keep that to yourself. Don't be overly into it and trying to make your life revolve around it. Like your preference for a particular race should not be your personality.

Speaking as an american, I cant stand the majority of UK women I see on tv or on youtube. Maybe 'real' women on the ground are different but I do not like what I see. Plus these reality tv shows do not help with their editing and musical scores.

The guys have a point. If your preference is borne of experience and because you "just like" that type, fine. For example, I love curvy, busty brunettes. I just like the way they look. Ever since I can remember, I've always liked big breasted women with dark hair. I can't explain why. I can't explain anything that happened to cause it. It just is so with me. I just like them, and the way they look.

It's fine to make certain observations about racial preferences in dating. This site has done so here and later, here. We commend those to your reading.

If a white woman is dating black men not because she prefers them, but because she expects black men to conform to certain stereotypes, that's a problem. If a man dates only black women for no reason other than he expects them to conform to certain stereotypes, that's a problem.

It's a problem not so much because of racism or prejudice, though it is prejudicial, which is not a problem. Prejudice in dating is not a problem because everyone does this. Everyone brings prejudices to dating. The problem arises (heh) and becomes a "fetish" when you're applying stereotypes and attributing stereotypical characteristics and behaviors to people of certain races, and expecting those attributes all the time. Preferences become fetishes when the only way you can find satisfaction in a person is if they bring the characteristic you prefer, and you expect it in certain individuals.

The problem happens on an individual level and leads to frustration and disappointment. That frustration and disappointment arise because the person holding those prejudices expects the subjects of her prejudices to act in certain ways or be certain things or have certain characteristics. It just doesn't work, and causes problems for these women everywhere.
