During that time, there were 5,651 prosecutions for rape but only 35 for making false allegations of rape.

A prosecution for making a false allegation of rape is NOT the same as making a false allegation of rape. The former is NOT government policy; indeed, it is considered to be "not in the public interest". This is the reverse of the policy for prosecuting alleged rapes. Indeed, in the period mentioned, it was policy to prosecute cases where there was no obvious evidence of rape in the hope that a court would convict and push up numbers of rape convictions.

An example of what William Collins calls "constructive mendacity". This government department is not being truthful with the British people.

Of the 35 false rape allegations brought by the CPS not one was lost. The bar for bringing a false allegation trial is set much higher than for a rape trial.

Plus the CPS does not like to bring false rape allegation cases since it deters women from coming froward with allegations. False or otherwise!

It's a real horror-show for those accused, including such gems as if you are employing someone, and have consensual sex with them, then the complainant can withdraw that consent later, on the grounds that they did not have the "freedom" to consent at the time, because their employer was in a "position of power" over them.

You know whats interesting about this? They list the prosecutions, not how many were convicted or actually deemed false. Think the language is different between countries, maybe, which is weird. Still, they totally fuck up. I would but a huge amount of money on more than 35 being false. For example, I doubt they count those that recanted.

SO i went and looked at the actual friggin data they should be going off of. 52,178 is just the sexual offences, or 42,976 for serious offences. I'm not even including the domestic violence, as i'm not sure why it was mentioned. However they don't mention rape specifically...so I found this. Basically, around which the numbers are much lower here for some reason. 24,203 and breaking down their numbers, roughly 28% were rape against women(We'll ignore men because they do for this too) which leads to 6777(rounding up by .16).

So, from what they are saying over a thousand of their prosecutions were deemed false or had no conclusion(i'm guessing). Now, the news articles and whatnot keep saying that the conviction rate is only like 8%, so that leads me to think that about 90% end up false or with no conclusion. They're getting a lot of flak for it in fact. So from their little spiel there the low prosecutions of false accusations isn't because there aren't false accusations, its because they aren't prosecuting it. It took them years to actually prosecute this..lovely woman, and on her own she made 9 false accusations of rape.

Along with them not accepting sexts and nudes and crap as evidence anymore, they really are pushing stuff,
