I remember, some months ago, coming across an online EU poll about how the EU was dealing with inequality. Most of the questions were along the lines of: "Do you think more help should be given to women in employment?" I answered each with: "You should be tackling men's later retirement ages and gender-specific conscription in some EU countries!"

The Council of Europe produced the Istanbul convention which is the usual equality for women only stuff.

Not sure about studies, but I'll ask you to take a look at the university policies in Europe. Most of the universities are public institutions, so their gendered admission/ recruitment policies are just as effective as gendered laws, because they enjoy a great degree of autonomy.
