If you browse AITA enough, you'll eventually notice an astonishingly complete double standard with gender, to the degree where answers and judgements entirely depend on the genders of the people involved.

I've seen some posts before from people who claimed to have done experiments where they copy-pasted old questions but switched the genders, and got completely opposite answers. I thought they were probably lying or exaggerating or perhaps it was just chance, but now I believe it.

What I find concerning is how real people go to that sub to get advice that could be harmful, and even enabling of abusive partners. I frequently see men called "the asshole" for talking about how his wife/girlfriend treated him that if the genders were reversed, people would call it abusive. Yet when it's a woman behaving in a controlling manner, the man is shamed to accept it.

Also how women are encouraged to end relationships over "abusive" behavior from her male partner, when that same behavior is supported and encouraged for women.

This is not harmless. This could gaslight people into staying in abusive and controlling relationships. IMO it's an extreme problematic and harmful sub.
