The thing is, in the main Hungarian news portal (index.hu), the narrative change was very indicative of this whole double standard. First, it was how horrible Depp was. Then, way after the evidence on the contrary came out, and they still churned out articles about poor Amber, suddenly it was "Depp alleges, he must be desperate", and when the whole thing became a bit too hard to keep up, it was "they both were abusers, it was a toxic relationship". They had a four part article series about domestic abuse, and not a word on male victims at all.

(It is quite important what these small, local portals write, since they are the sole source of international news for many of their readers.)
