I'm really afraid about making people (or the situation) uncomfortable. Do you guys have any suggestions on a good book (or movie) on someone who learned to be comfortable with being uncomfortable?

If the problem is you tend to want to avoid conflicts and please others at your own expense, then you might have Nice Guy Syndrome. Read "No More Mr. Nice Guy."

If you speak confidently and believe your in control no situation would be uncomfortable. Just pull people into your frame by not being bothered by awkwardness. I don't know if it will help but don't check your ego in those situations, easier that way.

You might be in a low testosterone hormonal state. High testosterone makes you not give a fuck how uncomfortable you make people. Actually quite enjoy making people uncomfortable.

Like said,I suggest to you to read "No more mr nice guy". And try to have fun sometimes when interact to people,just for yourself and see the reaction from people. Maybe at the beginning they are upset,but with confidence you can do barely what you want. Women especially are attracted by men who can speak "uncomfortable" things (but depends also on how you are perceived): example,I interact with some girls and they call me asshole or bastard every day,but everyday they are around me because I'm not boring and needy, and when you don't give a fuck women think that you have better things than them to give a fuck about and their hamsters run on the wheel.

Doing a year of sales has helped me more than anything else. My paycheck is dependant on me talking to people. Makes you learn pretty quick.

Im gonna suggest that you dont read a book, maybe pick something up to assist. You have all the facts that you need already.

You arent good with discomfort, you want to be better. The first step is to just do it. After you get better at it in general, you do deliberate practice.

TLDR: Dont be afraid to read a book but know that there is no way to cure this any other way than taking action. This community (including myself) tends to get caught up in reading and understanding but without implementation it may take you 1000 books to gain the information needed where it only takes 10 interactions
