Nowadays everyone is talking about how we, "need more women in STEM" but from my POV I think it's that we need support for STEM in general. I have a feeling that when applying to a college or job in STEM, if it's down to a well qualified man and a well qualified woman, they will pick the woman. I don't know if this is overreacting or not, but it just seems probable and scares me to think about.
