Look/ask for referrals would be a start. Lawyers are talkers, find someone who isn’t making money to vouch for them and what they can do

Truthfully I found someone I felt I could trust. I'm sure their are better ones, and worse ones. Go for the middle of the road. I have kids so I made sure that the guy I got had experience with custody, and kids.

I met with a few of whom were ladies , one lady wouldn't take my case, simply because I was a guy and she saw it as I was trying to take the kids away from their mother. I did/do have pictures/video of her hallucinating, and I mentioned these two them as well as other lawyers. And was basically like WTH am I supposed to do, when she refused to get help.. In any case I got her out, and the lawyer I have is straight up with me, and was up front with telling me not to expect the world. And that if he didn't think something was for the good of the kids and myself he'd call me out on it. And drop me if need be.

Find a litigator, not a mediator. Litigators can mediate, but meditators can't necessarily litigate.

Ask an attorney how soon they will depose the mother. A litigator will tell you "immediately" to combat confabulation. A mediator will tell you it's better to wait.

Get an experienced attorney. They have seen it all. Be upfront with what you feel are going to be the obstacles you will face in getting the standard divorce.

They will look at how realistic you are being first. BTW- Everyone’s spouse is a narcissistic in divorce and we all have cognitive dissonance.

If you are going for full custody because her behavior puts your children in physical danger 100% of the time, tell the attorney. And show your evidence. She/he will decide if your case is worth the $ and how reasonable your expectations are.
