No one is stopping females from going into those jobs. In fact, there are initiatives paid for with your tax dollars to get them to work in those fields. They just either don't want to do it or can't because they don't seriously train for it.

Have you tried basic logic? Let's say that there is one field in which women can't get a job or are underpaid because sexism. Now, let's imagine that one of the people in that field isn't sexist. That person starts their own companies. They decide to hire women who are very competent but can't find a job in those fields, or they pay them slightly more that what other women in that field get, but still less than the men, so three y can poach the best women of the field from their competitors.

With equally or better qualified cheaper employees, they would be able to outcompete everyone in the field.

If the argument of the wage gap is true, surely, there is an easy way to fix it while making money : start a business.

The argument of "women are paid less/are discriminated against in the workplace is based on the premice that the evil capitalist corporations which are ready to relocalize in China to have children work to save money on salaries would rather be sexist than save money. That they would leave a place where they could save several % of costs through salaries untouched just for sexism, when people have been talking about the wage gap for decades, so they can't preach ignorance to say "they are just too blinded by their sexism to notice", especially when hiring those women, in addition to make them earn money would be a great publicity stunt that would earn them even more money?

Face him with the choice between saying that every single evil capitalist pigs who have no qualms making children work for them would choose to waste money and pass a massive opportunity to get free publicity, just because they hate women so much, or recognizing that the wage gap is not due to sexism because greed would have put a stop to that long ago.

Also, the stats you are looking for are something akin to the salaries of nurses in public functions, where the salary is based on a grid so there is no external influence to affect them. You have a given diploma, a given field of work, a given number of years of experience, in a given part of the country you get a given hourly salary. No negotiation, no BS like that, and the field is overwhelmingly feminine, so there is no argument of hostile environment for women or such crap.

If in that case there is still a wage gap... Then you know it is not due to discrimination.

Look for this kind of things.

Of course, you can also look for how the Obama administration debunked the white house wage gap, for example, after Obama blundered about the 76cts on the dollar.

When you make everything super-egalitarian like in Scandanavia, workplace gender segregation actually INCREASES. i.e. the ratios of male to female engineers and female to male nurses is HIGHER in these countries.

The largest difference between men and women is interest in systems vs. interest in contact with people. This is one of the most reproduced results in the social sciences. It shows up one day after birth. It contributes to pay differences because industries which involve things and systems (engineering, manufacturing, finance) translate to larger scales much more easily than industries which involve personal contact (medicine, psychology, teaching etc). i.e. Fewer people can produce more revenue. Productivity is higher.

It's currently believed that the systems/people preference difference is caused at least partially by prenatal testosterone exposure.

Is that the gap you were talking about? Or the home ownership gap in single women's favor resulting from those higher earnings as referred to in the article?
