Depends. Here in the US, we have the Bradley Amendment which removed the statute of limitation on child support owed, for any reason. Does Australia have anything like that? Obviously, you'll be showing some official your passport. Does Australia have a hard-on for going after people who are behind in CS? You might be flagged at the border.

It sucks, but you'll be no use to him in prison (where they'd put you if you were an US citizen facing the same thing overseas).

There's never an excuse to abandon your children. By law you have visitation rights, be a man and show them you aren't what their mother says you are. Honestly, sounds like you're a no good, deadbeat father.
