There is a difference between being an orbiter and being a friend. Many guys can tell them apart and girls are not even aware that it’s a thing.

If the girl doesn’t invite you to events and never lets you meet her girl friends who are at least equally as beautiful as her, you’re her orbiter and you need to cut her loose.

If you do want to fuck them, it's a bad idea because you will not fuck them by orbiting. It's a terrible move to get laid.
Women see orbiters as unattractive. While your friends will try to hook you up and set you on dates, saying "I have this friend that's hot", when it comes to orbiters they'll tell other women "oh, he's such a good guy, but I would never date him", or when inquired, "no, don't date him, I like him a lot but you are my sister, you can do better".

I have some childhood friends and I managed to tell apart the one that saw me as an orbiter because of that. As soon as I got single two of them set me on dates with hot chicks, hotter than themselves, and whenever I pointed out a chick they thought wasn't attractive, they shamelessly said I could do better.
The third one tried to get me on to pick up a chick a LOT uglier than her, said that she "ends up thinking she's pretty because she's very intelligent", and worked on dissuading me from picking up women I was attracted to.
