If it was like “oh, I paid for my meal, you payed for yours”, then sure. But this guy was going to pricey restaurants and ordering all the most expensive shit, then dashing once he wolfed it down. That would be just as unacceptable if the genders were reversed

Nah, this guy was a shit. He tried to steal his portion (after ordering crazy shit) and just yeet himself out of there. Don't try and frame this as him refusing to pay for his date, he refused to pay for himself.

I got the cops called once because this chic was like "let's go to restaurant". She started talking after the food came about how she was gonna "give me something nice" if I got her food. I told her that I didn't consider her a prostitute and wasn't going to get held up for money for pussy. Turns out that she didn't even have a way to pay. She had just assumed that I was paying. Of course it worked out well for me that day since I paid for the mealS and walked home in disgust from the encounter. I didn't even want a ride home from her, I probably would have had to pay for gas. I only paid because she was gonna get arrested and started crying. That was the last date I went on some 5 or 6 years ago.

A guy has no obligation to pay for a woman but he has obligation to pay for himself if no one in his party is willing to pay for him. Which this man didn't. It's a simple theft issue.

The headline is a bit confusing. I remember seeing an article on this guy a little while back. He was asking women on dates to restaurants, ordering expensive entrees and running away after he was done eating.
