Of course it'll be the Republicans that become a third party. Whenever some major, divisive issue comes up in the US, the Democratic party is always on the side that wants to maintain the status quo, ironically enough.

Seriously though, look at US history. The Democratic Party is the oldest political party in the US right now, able to trace its history back to the Founding Fathers. The only reason they're still around is because, even though they've jumped across the line at least once, they never sit closer to the center of a debate than the other party in a major debate when a third party starts to rise up.

The thing is, he's wrong about why they'll be a third party: they'll be a third party because in about ten years' time, the MRA will reach a point where sitting on the fence about it or just paying lip service to the movement without keeping any promises will force you to either join the Democrats or be outed for someone who seriously wants equality.

Well, not "hyper-masculinity", don't kid yourself...the Republican Party has been far up it's own ass long before Democrats started doing the same. Separation of church and state is their enemy, and progress is their bane. They'll be phased out just as a matter of time unless some big shifts happen.
