Maybe I'm trying to find patterns where they don't belong but recently I've heard this line in multiple things.

This is how the scenario goes, a comes up with a plan and the guy tries to tell her that his plan is better. He gets ignored and they go along with the girl's plan. It fails and they finally go with the guy's plan which turns out to be very effective. After the plan is conveyed a girl would say something like "Ugh, I can't believe I'm saying this but you're right."

Why is it necessary to add this line in the first place?
