My last ex did everything he could to stop me from writing, including yelling and complaining loudly every time I opened my laptop or even tried to read on my Kindle, and it completely de-motivated me. My creative spark has come back since I dumped him.

My best friend’s scrote husband is incredibly nasty and unsupportive of her getting into grad school for her dream career (which is 9 years in the making) and she’s been super depressed because of him. I hope she does well in it and eventually leaves his dusty ass.

I had an ex tell me I was too anxious to work retail full time, let alone the medical feild. He had a way of making it sound concerned, not assholish. "I'll support your decisions either way, but I don't want you to get in over your head and be in a situation you can't handle." When we broke up, I got the hardest medical job I could that didn't require a certification or license, which was a caregiver in a dementia home. I worked fulltime for a long time, and ngl, it was an adjustment. I earned two merit raises in that time. I am still working there but way less hours now, because I am now in school doing the prereqs for nursing. Most of my anxiety and depression has disappeared. Hmmmmm. What a mystery!
