I know how lonely, hopeless, and defeated one can feel. I've been thru it myself.

Important for people in helping area's is to ask and ask about plans. As far as I am aware if someone has a detailed plan they are most likely to act on it, but most people won't tell a therapist etc. that without asking. The 58% in financial problems for example seems very 'logical' to me.

I volunteered for the dutch one for a while, and active listening can be so important. You are allowed to have these feelings, it doesn't make anyone weak.

For me personally my suicidal episode in my life was when I was bullied in high school, asked teachers for help and things only got worse. I didn't see a way out and that usually is a common theme in suicide. Ofcourse at some point the circumstances did change, even though at the time I couldn't see how. Most help at the time would have been someone who did point out ways I could change things. (For example I could have switched schools which as a kid I didn't even think off.)

I later went through a depression, but wasn't suicidal, while I wouldn't describe myself as depressed in high school.
