If the average height is 6’1, they are no longer the top 20%, they are average again, and 6’4 will be the new “tall”.

This is the ‘dystopia’ about designer babies, people will always want their babies to be the best, will this create a feedback loop where women are constantly increasing the average height of men because they don’t want their baby to be “short”?

If 6’1 is average, they’ll want their babies to be 6’3, until 6’3 is average, then they want their babies to be 6’5, etc. Until suddenly 6’1 is the new short.

Firstly, you could simply make the male hight distribution a lot more narrower, or simply every man the same height if you were looking for it through an incel lens.

But, I think your gravely underestimating the radial changes this would make to our current social sexual dynamics that it would be anything like it is now. genetic engineering wouldnt just be able to make humans taller, or more attractive, but also change what human are attracted too and how we think. I mean this would be a post-std, artificial womb, 100% effective birth control society. Women's sex drive could be made to mirror men's, or vice versa. Our over all sex drive could be increased, or even reduced. Traits we are attracted too could even possibly be altered, we could all be made bisexual for example. Gender and sexual relations would be inconceivable to what it is now. `

Then factor in virtual reality and hyper realistic sex robots...
