Ironic considering you're the one who clearly doesn't understand what the word "deserves" means. Distrust is a natural consequence of misbehavior. At no point did I assert that this is a GOOD thing, just that it is a natural thing. Crashing your car is a natural consequence of your brakes failing. That doesn't mean you "deserved" to crash your car. Stop twisting my words in bad faith.

So distrust of women is a natural consequence of all the women who cheered Catherine Kieu and all the ones who remained silent? Your failure to understand the word 'distrust' is based on the fact that you're a hypocrite.

And incels actually DO these things. Many incels have gone on killing sprees of women. I don't know about you but I don't consider jokes on the internet to be the same thing as real world violence.

That's the problem with you feminists, you lash out at ALL men for the crimes of some and you expect us not to call you out on it. Your entire movement is about nothing more than getting even with the entire male gender because some dudes did you wrong.

Nobody ever said that men deserved to be seen in a negative light.

My advice is to avoid statements of the form "this never happens" because it only takes one counterexample to disprove

This one is clearly talking about white privilege. The parent comment mentions straight white males and he is ranting about historical stuff (likely colonialism). It's a different subject entirely.

As /u/zastale points out, you're moving the goalposts. Here's the claim you made which I refuted:

Maybe you misspoke and you'd like to revise your claim, but your claim as stated does not say, "feminists don't hate men" nor does it say "women don't hate men"

So when you respond to my rebuttal like this:

It's as though you think I was rebutting the claim, "women don't hate men" - if I was rebutting the claim, "women don't hate men" and I had posted a man-hating man, then you'd be justified in pointing out, "he's a man"

But I'm not rebutting the claim, "women don't hate men"

I'm rebutting the claim, "nobody ever said that men deserved to be seen in a negative light." I can rebut that claim by citing a man or a woman. To me, the really salient point that we should be discussing is that society approves of man-hating. Sometimes women do it, and sometimes men do it, but it's always wrong. I don't believe that society approves of woman hating ...even though yes obviously plenty of people also hate women.

You go on to say:

Women as a group aren't to blame even when women hate men. Only when women perform specific acts like hating men or excusing the hatred of men are those specific women to blame.

I feel like that's a reasonable position for me to hold.

If it's not a mainstream feminist opinion, then you'd be able to find mainstream feminists denouncing the (also mainstream) feminists whose opinions I quoted. But the truth is, the feminists whose opinions I quoted were well respected and enjoyed long careers as authors and academics.

So yeah, it is a mainstream feminist opinion.
