I enjoyed the point about virtue signaling. I think what these companies are missing is that just because woke issues are PC and people are reluctant to speak out against such issues, doesn’t mean most people will choose to support a product or company pushing such identity politics. The woman from Levi’s really addressed that distinction well in my opinion.

As the piece mentioned, slamming men and pushing woke agenda isn’t the way to increase sales to men as witnessed by both the Gillette and Bud Light campaigns.

The woman in red is free to have whatever opinion she chooses about women in bikinis and to make her own purchasing decisions accordingly, but she misses a crucial and relevant point: Its been shown attractive people (women and men) in ads increase sales. There is a huge difference between portraying attractive women in bikinis and bashing a sex. This seems lost to her, and she presents no evidence that such depictions of attractive women turns off potential consumers and hurts sales. Male bashing commercials clearly turn off the male targeted audience. I hope more men boycott products and companies that virtual signal by bashing men.

She's clearly a hypocrite.

They usually "oh but it's different!" attitude is the same as boys lag in school, male victims of DV, homelessness impacts men more often etc.. etc... It's just lying. End of.

I am no fan of Piers Morgan because he never lets anyone with a different view actually speak. He keeps interrupting them before they can finish his point. And it's imperative that when you are intellectually jousting with someone who has different views that you let them share their views so you know what to focus on.

That being said he has a point. If we can objectify men and no one has an issue with it, why can we not objectify women?

The solution is to objectify no one or discuss what level of objectification is appropriate. Jenifer said that the product is at the center of the ad, which I think is a good point. If the ad is selling sex and not the product it is missing the point. But we would then need to discuss moral behaviour for companies and then force them to behave so that we aren't offended by their ad campaigns (and their pollution, and wage theft, and slave labour).

Each generation paints their sexual norms of the previous one in a bad light. Conservative people get shat on for being prudes and oppressing peoples' sexual expressions. Then when a generation of sexual expression - including women objectifying themselves - passes by, a new generation of conservatives is born.

But why are women zoning in on this when they were empowered before by taking their clothes off?

Because this is about power. Women know that sex is power. They feel taken advantage of when their power benefits men and not them first. Men shouldn't enjoy women's bodies simply because they enjoy them. Women need to find ways to use that to get more from men before they are satisfied that no one is being exploited. When women offer sex to men, they expect more than sex in return. If women get sex in return for offering sex, they feel exploited.

Women are also insecure AF about their bodies (their power) so they project onto younger, more attractive women because they fear losing their place in society. Younger, more attractive women get more attention from men. Attention means safety and provision from men. Older, lesser attractive women want the young women to cover up, but they cannot slut shame them due to ideology.

However, men are an easy target. Blame them for women willingly taking their clothes off for attention and money. Nevermind the fact that 18 year olds are signing up for OF or posting their nudes for free online. It's all men's fault. So if they can claim the patriarchy is making them do it, they never have to address the elephant in the room: there is a trend where women enjoy selling sex for attention (from attractive men) and money. This scratches the itch for validation as well as protection and provision. Even in very feminist countries, prostitution (real and digital) still exists.

So this isn't about sexualising women. This is about women who fear their power slipping trying to convince an entire culture they are more relevant than the attractive youth who are scantily clad.
