Strange phenomenon I'm noticing more and more these days,

Why are so many women now entirely dishonest about their tastes and standards in men? You see it all the time on dating websites. They want a guy who can "make them laugh", but even when presented with a guy who meets all their PUBLICLY desired qualities they'll shoot them down in favor the the first Chad to message them with a "hey". You'll get the odd rare exception to this, but it's far and inbetween. Women in general are attracted to success, financial stability, and muscles. This has been true for centuries. Women liking alpha males shouldn't come as a shock.

Arguing with a friend right now who legit thinks anything between 5% to 15% body fat is "unnatural, unhealthy, and gross", and thinks the "ideal male" should be fat (25%+). She keeps likeminded friends, asks them, and thinks that their consensus will trump the many studies done over decades for things women find attractive. It's making me think that this argument won't go anywhere because she thinks being the exception is the norm.

She genuinely thinks fitness and caring for your body and overall health is an unattractive and unhealthy quality, and is entirely convinced that most women think just like her. 1% to 4% is basically WWE levels of fitness, and 5% to 15% is the Magic Mike range. 16% to 19% is a good building point, and it gets progressively worse going down. It's not rocket science, but I don't get why women feel the need to be so dishonest about their true standards. You'll see it all the time in action out at clubs or any social gathering. Even your average joe will lose out in favor to Chad almost every time. Why do they lie about what is so obvious?
