I don't claim to be the perfect specimen of a man.
I don't claim to have every answer.
I don't claim that I can defeat the 'so-called' feminists.
But what I can do, is express to you how I conduct myself in the fact of 'so-called' feminism, and how I believe all men should look to conduct themselves.
Because, to some small degree, we men contribute to the fact of how the 'so-called' feminist treat us.
By that I mean we're reactionary to them, by and large, instead of being completely unfazed and undeterred by them and their actions and their rhetoric.
I was the only / one of the few males in my class of all / mostly females, and the women would say such sexist / misandrist / toxic things about men, and if / when I tried to say something / offer a rebuttal / offer a counterpoint / tried to say how (sexist/misandrist/toxic) what they were saying was, I got such hate / I was told I don't matter / I was told I was being misogynistic.....
or...
I was interacting in some way with a coworker and then I asked her a simple question / she overheard me say something that she took out of context / she thought I was asking her out / I offered her a gentle compliment and then the next day, HR called me into the office and said that I had harassed someone / made a sexual advance to someone / made someone feel uncomfortable / was creating an inappropriate / hostile work environment.....
I've seen those particular stories way too often, and they are way too familiar.
Unfortunately, we cannot control what others do.
But we CAN control what WE do.
And what we need to start doing, is conducting ourselves as MEN.
The first thing is to realize that if someone has it out for you, you cannot stop them, and you cannot control them. Stop worrying about their actions, their motivations, and focus on what you can actually do. Record your interactions with others, if you can do so; if you really have it that you can do so, carry around a tiny camera and audio recorder at all times, and don't tell anyone you've done it. Protect yourself pre-emptively if you can.
Next...when you're in the company of women, and they begin to be sexist / toxic / misandrist, don't tolerate it. Call them out on it. And when-- because mostly it will be an when, and not an if, so when-- they try to tell you that your'e being misogynistic, calmly but firmly ask them, "how am I being a misogynist to call you out on your behavior? If I were to say/do that same thing to you, that would be sexist, right? So why is it okay for you to do it?" Mind you, getting them to acknowledge their hypocrisy, or even to hear an answer for it, is NOT the goal here; it is for those who hear your exchange, who may not be wholly involved with the 'so-called' feminist, to hear and perhaps begin to question why it is that such actions are okay for women, but not for men. More, though, it is for yourself, for you to stand up for yourself and not be cowed by women who are trying to belittle and demean men and make themselves feel powerful.
Wherever and whenever you can, use logic-- and stick with it!!!!!!!-- to dismantle their arguments. Don't scream or try to talk over them more so than a stern level and tone of voice will convey.
blah blah blah wage gap!!
Well, you get other compensation in the form of maternity leave, for one, so no, your pay should not be exactly equal to mine, unless I can get paternity leave just like you get maternity leave / Yes, if we can get equal compensations, then we should have equal pay, but you get some compensations I cannot, like maternity leave....
or
blah blah one in five women, while only 2% of men blah blah
Yes that is tragic, but it's actually only one in five college-age women, not every woman on the planet; yes, I said only, and if you can say only about your incorrect statistic, I can say it too / Your statistic is false because it only reflects proven false accusations, not any other accusations, many of which cannot be proven to be false accusations; there is no way to prove that a man is innocent when a false accusation is made, either
or
blah blah rape victims suffer / commit suicide when blah blah
Men who are falsely accused suffer, and commit suicide, or are murdered! Are you saying you want people on both sides to die? or just the men?
In the workplace... Men; do your jobs. Ignore the women beyond what you have to do to get your job done. It doesn't matter if she is smokin' hot. It doesn't matter if she's sitting on your desk with her thighs showing. It doesn't matter if she invites you into the private restroom for a quickie. You are there to do your job, to work, not to do anything else. And if you're ever tempted, ask yourself: Is she paying me for interacting with her? / Is this going to advance my (job / position / career)? / Is this worth me losing my (job / position / career)? / Could doing this lead to me being brought up on disciplinary / legal charges? If you cannot answer "yes" to those questions (or "no" to the last one), then you need to turn away, and do your damned job.
On dates and in dating life... Be a man. That has nothing to do with having a penis, mind you. "Be a man" means to be someone with self-assurance and with conviction. That may be the hardest part of this, to have self-assurance. What that means, is to have in your mind, that you are pursuing a path of good choices, and good actions, and that you will stick to that path. You already know what is right verses what is wrong; use that sense to guide you-- you, personally. That means no waffling; that means no hesitation beyond making a firm choice; that means considering what you want to do, and then getting it done to the best of your time and ability.
How that translates to dates and dating life.... Ask a woman out, if you want / if women are your interest. Accept "no" as an answer, and move on. If you get a yes, great- then tell her where you plan to take her, and then ask, "Are you good with that?" Don't say "well, you pick" because that is not the mark of the self-assured. If you ask for the date, tell her that you will pay for it. And you should also emphasize that paying for the date does NOT mean that sex is the exchange; only assholes do that. If is it NOT a date, then tell her upfront that you will split the bill. If she balks at the date, or at having to pay her portion of things, then say "Okay" and cancel the date-- or not date, as it were.
The last point is, don't let women lead you around by the nose just because they have something you want. Be someone who understand who he is, and what he wants-- without being an asshole or a self-centered jerk or a narssacist about it-- and interact with a woman like she is a person, not some untouchable Goddess (or some slaven whore).
Once we can be MEN, and we can BE men, we can start to actually deal with Men's Rights, properly.
Or, at least, that's my opinion on the matter.....
