Ugh. Does anyone else physically recoil upon hearing this song? It's so anti-male it's insane. I was like 9 when All About That Bass and her other big songs came out, and I was in love with them, mostly because I didn't understand nor pay attention to the lyrics. Even after "Made You Look" came out, it wasn't my favorite song, but it didn't propagate man hate, so I didn't mind it and still respected her and her music.

But "Mother" has to be one of the most sexist, condescending songs I've ever heard. On top of using a very specific sexist buzz-word that rhymes with "explaining", she basically tells the listeners that men are like children and should be treated as such. But songs like these always manage to get popular because of society's "yasss Queen men are trash" mindset. Just look at anything written by Taylor Swift, Ava Max or, fuck it, just about every artist you could possibly name. But no, we obviously live in a big evil patriarchy where women don't get rights. This is bullshit. Rant over.
