Girls are pretty much incompetent when it comes to doing acts of heroism. Their emotions take over and they are unable to react.

This comment will be cherry-picked and quote mined, so it deserves to be contextualized. People are likely to be unable to react, but the fact of the matter is that a MUCH higher percentage of men will leap to action than women will. Study after study demonstrates men have more risk taking behavior than women do across pretty much all cultures, plus the whole testosterone thing.

Exactly. Thanks for the addendum.

Thanks you. And it's not because women are incompetent. They don't have those instincts of disposability and testosterone running through their blood.

Yep. Yesterday a large wooden box fell over at work and one of my arms was stuck between it and a small wall. Nothing dangerous, no injury, but it was too big to get up with one hand. What does my female coworker do? Just stands and stares for a minute or so till I snap "can you help me here?!". By that time another guy had run over and helped.

fuck those women.
Why are you expecting women to act like men? Are you still in the anger stage of swallowing the pill?

I was confused by this whole post. It doesn't have much to do with TRP. It's just finding a random situation to complain about women.

Exactly! Plus, those two men would have probably wound up having to save their girlfriends too.

Give me a break, bro. Almost no woman has the upper body strength to pull bodies out of a sinking car. I agree that women have almost no instinct to self-sacrifice, but that is just what they are, and in this case, the women would have no place jumping into that water.

Women have 30-40 percent less upper body strength. Most women could pick up a small baby and possibly a toddler.

According to my Grandfather, in days of yore, women could also pick up a sandwich, a cold beer, and keep a home running. And apparently, my grandmother took pride in these tasks.

While swimming, being weighed down by wet clothes, panicking, body flooded with adrenaline, possibly having to punch out a car window?
Kindly stay out of the water, ladies.

You should give them a small amount of credit for realizing that if they tried to do anything, their boyfriends would have to decide between saving the family or their girlfriends.

i very much doubt that went through either of their minds. i mean, it might have, but it probably wasn't the deciding factor for their non-participation.

What I'm more concerned about is what will probably (not) happen to the mother who was driving the van; if this were a man, he'd have been yanked out of the driver seat so fast his head would spin, and he'd (rightfully) be booked, tried, open and shut case thrown in prison for 18 years for child endangerment and attempted murder-suicide.
But what I heard on the news this morning is that the mother is being held in a "psychiatric hospital" awaiting "mental evaluation".

I will give a small amount of credit to the first girl that started recording video. The second one though, was just copying the first and reinforces the idea that women are not individually imaginative and are largely content to copy others in order to fit in.

Hopefully they'll also copy the mom and drive into the ocean.

That isn't a surprise when was the last time you heard of a woman acting in heroism like that. However if neither of them thought too atleast call 911 and are standing there recording like idiots then I would hold something against them.
