Romance, to me, is anything that demonstrates feelings of romantic love you have for a partner, generally by making a particular effort to make them happy. I don't think it's different depending on the person, but the style can be different. The last romantic thing I did for my fiancé was send flowers to his flat in Austria a few days ago, and the last "big" romantic thing I did for him was propose. The last romantic thing he did for me was write me a poem. I enjoy small but meaningful romantic gestures that make my life easier most of all, such as my fiancé's tendency to cook me food when I come back from a lomg trip or to do my favourite things (such as showing me cute goat videos!) when I'm down. More frivolous gestures are nice too, but this everyday sweetness is what our romance rests on.

To me, romance is demonstrating that you /know/ your partner, and showing that. Showing that you are attentive to their desires wants and needs, and acting on that. Trying to bring them joy and comfort and peace. Last romantic thing someone I dated did for me was when my ex put on and tied my ice skates for me. Last romantic thing I did for someone I dated was I surprised them by fitting something into a date itineracy they thought we wouldn’t have time for. He was very surprised and happy it worked out. I would like to just be paid attention to. Shown that I’m wanted especially. Any strong shows of desire would do a lot for me, most guys I date are very passive at best, disinterested in me at worst.

I think romance is when you do unnecessary things for the happiness of your partner. It might be a surprise dinner for your partner or something as simple as taking care of chores because they're sick and you want them to stay in bed. I don't think romantic and romance are necessarily the same thing.

1) just spending time together. In today’s world, that alone is rare. I like to get my partner’s stuff and I just like their company. 2) bought her a ring. She cheated. 3) Anything, but ideally something that involves us doing an activity together.

I haven't had all too many relationships, mostly because I just don't feel anything after those first weeks, so I bail :/ that or they are incredibly one-sided

Right now, I'm at a place where I don't really want a relationship, but I want to want a relationship (if that makes sense?)

Because well, that's what I'm supposed to want I guess, but everyone feels so alien to me (not to mention incredibly scary and untrustworthy)
