The "league" only exists for men. A mans looksmatch would get rated higher than him just because she is a woman. Average is seen as below average for men, so for him to be seen as "average looking" he has to be slightly above average. This is why you always hear people say that the woman is the more attractive one in the relationship even though they claim that couples are looksmatched. Its contradictory.

Also, it would be false to say that looks don't matter at all. The issue is when anyone claims that looks are all that matter or that only the most attractive guys can get sex/love.

Generally speaking, most couples are composed of average men and average women. It's been like this for a long time.

If a woman has, for example, a big nose, she wants a guy with a smaller one and can find him. If a guy has a big nose, not only do no women want him but even the woman with a big nose doesn’t want him either.

leagues aren’t only about looks. i was happy going for girls who are probably more or less attractive than me. it was genuinely intimidating going for girls significantly smarter, more ambitious or more accomplished than me. Also not super interested in girls significantly dumber, or less ambitious than me.
