I don't see what one thing has to do with another. In general, a preference for certain physical charateristics doesn't negate the significance of non-physical ones. Most men, in their wildest dreams, want women who look like models or celebrities. That's the near-universal male preference that allows those women to even become models and celebrities. Yet no one would argue that men aren't also attracted to lots of other traits and lots of other women who don't look like the top 1%.
