I make substantially more than my ex, however, she is living with her boyfriend (AP) since she left the house abruptly, leaving me with all of the bills, and she has no bills currently.

Court guidelines could entitle her to most $1,900/month. I offered her $700 which she took, but her attorney advised her against it so she backed out. Now she’s asking for $1,800/m which I simply cannot afford. Important note: We share custody 50/50…

Question is, how often do judges look at the situation as what they are and maybe rule that the $700 is enough, instead of going with the guidelines? My attorney is basically just preparing me for the worst which is not helpful…
