Glad that it's getting more light shone on it but I have to admit it irks me that they put in about men not defending themselves because of their values and did not mention anything about how easy it is for the abuser to make false accusations against their victims.

I wish they'd stop only focusing on men not reporting due to stigma. This follows this patriarchal socialization model. We need to be aware that men who do report are often seen as abusers and put into a perpetrator programme which conditions him to stop battering his female partner. It's classed as he's been battering her and that's why she because aggressive. This is in no way scientific, it is pure ideology from lesbianic feminists.

The problem for male victims is multi faceted, it's not just that men don't report its the often get blocked, blamed or put into a vetting programme as a perpetrator.

This follows this patriarchal socialization model.

That's the point. It's acquiescing while staying "true" to your beliefs. That's why, whenever you mention men's issues, they go "well of course, because patriarchy". Not shame, not toxic femininity, not the economy, not anything that actually causes our issues and actually, you know, exists.

It's called cognitive dissonance. It's very prevalent.

Nothing wrong with being a lesbian

[–]Low_Rich_5436 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely. However, political lesbianism is an extreme branch of feminism that essentially argues for the genocide of men. Not all lesbians, not even most lesbians, not even a significnt proportion of lesbians adhere to that horrible ideology. We however cannot allow those who do to hide behind their lesbianism to avoid criticism.
Lesbian feminism is nazism.

"chink in the chain of support for males"

WHAT chain of support for males? There ISN'T ANY.

That's the problem!

Thanks for sharing. Great to hear that Cornwall is stepping up.

This seems to be the refuge:

Not that that topic is at all "good", but at least it's getting recognition and being taken serioisly.

A 2016 label would go a long wY here.

Decades ago, domestic violence was equally ignored for men and women. Feminists created a double standard by only raising awareness for women. When you raise awareness for women and de-stigmatized the issue for women, women are more likely to come forward. If you don't raise awareness, women are less likely to come forward. When feminists de-stigmatized the issue for women but not men, and raised awareness for women and not men, then women are more likely to come forward.

Feminists created the double standard, and they low-key blame men to 'toxic masculinity' when the same situation existed for women decades ago.

Evey man know defending yourself with result in police arresting the man-the victim.

I lost nearly lost my uncle to DV when his girlfriend slit his throat and I also lost a colleague who's wife killed him in an argument.

We definitely need more refuges like this.

"Sue McDermott said men still do not report domestic violence as much as women because of the stigma"

The reality is that they are being treated poorly.
