Not only Alphas, but the "best" guy they can get, where "best" is a negotiated optimisation inside her being that we aren't privy to.

Women have a dualistic mating strategy.

Ideally they want a man that has the best genes (Chad) and is also the best provider. Rarely are the two found in the same person, though.

This is why women usually have two men in their lives; alpha fux & beta bux.

Women think they can chase down the high they get from the tingles and capture it. It's in everyones nature, men and women to exploit or harvest a good thing in their lives. Usually you only catch post wall women who are spit out from the cc going for BB.

Contrary to popular opinion, women prefer beta with a side of alpha. However, that basically is half as common as spotting a yeti riding a unicorn. So, they tend to opt for trying to tame an alpha.

It's quite the feat. A woman would hook up with an Alpha and convert him into a Beta then dump him for an Alpha. OR worse - just bang the next Alpha while keeping the security of the Beta.
