I see this frequently.

Reporters and police say they are protecting the victim’s identity, but the thing is, the true victim hasn’t been determined and they often treat the woman as a victim, even when she’s the suspect.

This bias goes beyond just media coverage. It impacts juries, criminal sentencing, public perceptions etc. Men being treated as if guilty based on unfounded MeToo type accusations is based on the same gender bias.
