Because climate issues can be classified as a crisis and even a health crisis which allows governments to take actions not usually allowed. Pay attention to all the reports on how climate change affects women and girls worse.

You gotta love how, in the attached report, women are conflated with peace & security (WPS). That WPS term originated in 'Bare Branches' by Valerie Hudson (2004). Rural areas chose to have boys during the one-child policy, which ran in China from about 1980-2015. There were 120 live male births per 100 female. These males are now sexually mature and unable to find a female partner. Hudson calls them 'Bare Branches' (the Chinese term for incel), and they represent a big bonus to Chinese military might. The west have been insecure ever since the implications of Hudson's book sank in.

So they'll be invaluable to those who have made 'climate-smart' investments. Women make the decisions on the big purchases. They'll twist hubby's arm to buy an electric vehicle, an area where China is now the world's biggest exporter. Unfortunately for world peace, 90% of the advanced semiconductors required for EVs are made in Taiwan.

There’s nothing equal about focusing on one gender and ignoring the other.

95% of the time when I read an article about “gender equality” it’s about justifying advantages for women and girls. In this case many of the issues have nothing to do with violence, but are simply about providing health services to females, but not males. “Gender equality” has essentially become the PC term for female privilege.

In this case, if we want to address violence in a gender equal fashion, we wouldn’t make it about gender, we would make it about perpetration and victimization regardless of sex.
