Found guilty but her face is blurred out!?!? Seems she may still be retaining pass benefits.

I'm always glad to see these predators go to prison. It never seems long enough. Having their pictures printed seems like closer to 'forever'.

[+]camsean -14 points-13 points-12 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Her face is blurred out because showing it may help to identify the minor victim.

[–]hicctl 29 points30 points31 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

then why are male predators not blurred ??

No, she isn’t famous. Before she was convicted they showed photos of her.

Aussie here. She'll still get away with it. It'll be played off as alcoholism or mental health and they'll quietly release her back on the streets. Australia wants as few female sex offenders in prison as possible

[–]Ok-Crab-4063 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They enjoy 1/6 of the punishment males get for the same sexual crime I read today

[–]dw87190 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even that's probably overstating it

Why?

A lot of people think it's pass denied, but wait until sentencing. A conviction is good, but PPD would be if she got the same sentence as a man.

*Raped not assaulted. 1 hour 20 of sex and oral is not an assault. Why do female rapists get away with ‘assault’. Blurred face too. No way a retain this, even pre-conviction as most of us will have seen in media too.

[–]Davey_boy_777 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Because only in the US is "rape" a charge. It's the same in Canada, there's sexual assault with varying degrees of severity. Rape is not a term that appears in the criminal code.

[–]Orangesteel 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Understand that, but the media reports using the work rape, but rarely when it’s perpetrated by a female. Woman has sex with teenage boy vs Paedophile rapes underage child.

[–]Valiantay -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's what the other poster is saying, it's NOT the case in other countries and the verbiage is the same for male and female.

[–]Orangesteel 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I disagree. News stories in the same states in the US use different language where cases are similar. Worse, assault cases are labelled rape, or attempted rape where the perpetrators are male. The same is true of cases involving children. Female perpetrators ‘sleep with’ students.

[–]spinuptheaesthetics -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is the problem with many people here, you guys don't read and learn the legal definition. Rape has a specific meaning, same as homicide and genocide, when they're both murders at the end of the day. Please learn before raging over Reddit. This wasn't rape.

[–]Cleric_1A 32 points33 points34 points 2 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Pedophile found guilty of sexual assault. That is how the headline should read.

>Sexually assaulting.

They didn't pull the "had sex with" bullshit! Bravo!

[–]gmanthebest 26 points27 points28 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd still prefer they use the term "rape," but yeah, at least a step in the right direction

[–]foofie_fightie 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was my immediate thought too!

[–]hunkyboy75 17 points18 points19 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They spelled “rape” wrong.

So a rapist was found guilty but they protect her privacy by blurring her face and not stating her name in the article?

Lol. I’m not sure I can commit to either

[–]HumaDracobane 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Rape, was the word the journalist was looking for, not "sexual intercourse". That is one pussypass.

Before joking about the "pussypass denied" I would wait to see her time in jail, then we'll see the pussypass being accepted or not. The defense and public certainly accepted the pass.

[–]spinuptheaesthetics 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It's not rape, happy to help you understand if you'd like.

[–]HumaDracobane 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Ok them. Explain how that is not rape, please.

[–]spinuptheaesthetics 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sure. See, first you'll have to understand that the name of a crime has a meaning. For example, a person A kills person B cannot be called a genocide. A genocide HAS to involve a murder of a large group of people. Now, this number can be defined differently by each country/law making body.

Similarly, there are types of sexual assaults, and one of them is rape. For a sexual assault to be called rape, it needs to meet a certain criteria, that is — forced penetration of the victim. Now this definition can vary across countries, but most likely it will be the same.

So, when this woman had sexual intercourse with the boy, the boy wasn't the recipient of the penetrative act, it was still the woman. So by law, this cannot be classified as rape even though the act was forced.

So, does that mean women cannot rape? Wrong. They can. If a woman forcefully penetrates the vagina, anus or the mouth of a victim (male or female) with an object or a body part (for example her hand), then by the definition of rape, that was a penetrative act towards the victim and will be classified as rape.

Hope I clarified any doubt you had around it.

[–]HumaDracobane 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

As you pointed, rape is one of the several clasifications for sexual crimes but the general definition of rape also includes cases when the victim does not have age to give consent.

Australian laws relates the penetration of the vagina being a condition required to be considered rape but doesnt point if the person with a vagina is the victim of the agressor (Or at least the broad aussie sources I've seen) and, since the age of sexual consent is 16, the kid is 15 and this was in Australia, he can not give consent so unless the propper law actually specifies that the victim has to be the one with a vagina being penetrated he's a victim of rape and the agressor should be pointed as that. And even if the law she wasnt a rapist using the word "sexual intercourse" would make it look like a regular sexual activity and not an adult taking advantage of a kid, which is what it is.

PD: The ones pointing that women can not be rappist are part of the problem. The fucking dual standard.

[–]speete 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's incredibly brave of that young man to step forward. It doesn't matter if he found everything exciting in the moment, he's a teenage boy and not able to make his own decisions. It's incredibly mature of him that after ruminating on these experiences he came to the conclusion that he was taken advantage of, and that what happened was wrong. None of this is his fault. His teacher is a disgusting narcissist.

To be attracted to a 14-year-old is disgusting. To act on those actions is evil.

[–]AntiFeminismAU 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She will walk free 100%. Female rapists are never punished in Australia

[–]Beautiful_Girlie_Bob 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The woman, who cannot be identified due to a court order, appeared in shock and started shaking, saying “no” and “I didn’t do this” before burying her head in her hands.

Oh, so she has heard of the word "no."
