I came to believe that domestic violence would still be a gender phenomenon only for women even if the majority of deaths and victims were men, just like in every other phenomenon. That's because women are treated as the only gender, while men are considered the basic form of human life

I'd be more inclined to do this if I also saw the media tell women not to be such vapid cunts to each other and men, e.g. not ridiculing them for appearance-related issues they can't change. Men can be physically violent, but women can destroy a person psychologically, and I want the media to acknowledge this truth.
