The irony here is bars as well as clubs tend to charge men more to get in. Often times women even get in for free in hopes of promoting the club and attracting men. I wish this entire business model would change.

This is out right discrimination only because the bar doesn’t also ban women from hitting on men. This bar is fucked and is going to become a hotspot for lesbians. At the minimum I hope they charge guys and women the same to enter.

in fairness, the rules DO NOT explicitly ban men from approaching women. It just says women can ask for introductions and tells women they should lift their chins and ignore any men who talk to them without being introduced.

I wouldn't go to any bar with this rule, but the rule does not ban men from approaching women.

I don’t know. One place that will make women approach guys, albeit through the barman.

I don’t like the “rule” as such, but there is a positive aspect to it. Just so long as it doesn’t become general around hospitality.

This isn't a new rule. Another craft bar had almost the same rules verbatim. It might have been death and co but it might have been something else. Either way it isn't a new concept.

"the rules are tongue in cheek". Guys, someone needs to call it. Read the article, in full. It's subtle humour/nuance, and a little nod to the era the estalishment is trying to replicate. Read the article, and avoid taking any coloured pills.

Lol this makes me feel good because a) never really liked bars, only got peer pressured when I as a teen because if I didn't go I was not "trying or having the uni experience" and b) I can focus on my life because it is shorter by the hour
