Honestly the biggest problem I see is her complaining and putting down her husband. You should NEVER EVER put down your husband in front of others. As a wife it is your job to show everyone the greatness in him and as for his flaws and burdens you keep it between you two. He trusted you with those and did not intend for them to be shared with others.

Your grandma was a dick for talking about him like that to your parents. Your parents are also awful for treating their own son like that and I am sorry you are going through this.

I personally think the whole traditional way is effective for both sides in the relationship if done right. The problem is a lot of women abuse it and take advantage of a man who is willing to do that for them. If all she was expected to do was laundry, clean and cook, that is the bare minimum and she has no right to complain.

There is so much more to being a homemaker then just doing the chores. Your literal job is to serve your kids and husband in such a situation. If she hated that old fashion way so much she should have gotten a job like you said.

Also sorry to say this, but I don’t believe she loved him. How can you claim to love someone and act like that towards them.

Also don’t let your parents tear you down. I know it is hard, trust me I do, but you will get through it. If I can so can you.

Over the past few months I really put effort into reflecting on whether this is true - and it’s hitting me really hard that this man-hating is much worse than I ever thought it was. It’s super depressing actually.

About twenty years ago I visited a couple in their late sixties. Very well off because the husband had a really well-paying job as an engineer. He worked and traveled for work his entire life and did all maintenance and upkeep of their farmhouse on weekends. After a pleasant dinner conversation, the wife turns to me and right in front of her hard working, very successful husband says “I always wish he’d been a businessman because he could have made more money.” And she didn’t stop there.

I am ready to admit to myself that maybe, just maybe, we are not considered human by the other sex. It could that the loud, abusive “voices” are only coming from the toxic narcissists among them, but the empaths may not be so reluctant to side with them it seems.

In the book Intimate Communion by Deida I found an interesting statement that a (straight) man feels good (however faint that feeling may be) when he sees a woman. I was emotionally and physically abused by my single mother so I have never had a great impression of women in general, still I have not been unsuccessful in dating and am married, but by God what Deida says does apply to me every time. I bet women know this and take advantage of it somehow.

While I agree with your general sentiment. I am not sure not buying a washing machine was not a dick move. Not saying it was either. Depends on circumstances. But I would certainly want a washing machine, cause it simply is a must have, unless you really cannot have it.

Okay, you need to stop. I can see how this is affecting your mental health. You are grabbing at things that have nothing to do with you. I get it that men have it bad, but you cannot compare your grandma's life when she was young compared to now. Things were different back then, and you cannot fathom what life was like back then.

Also, you are talking about hypotheticals, like men going to war and having dangerous jobs, but, did you go to war? Do you have one of these dangerous jobs? If not, then you really don't have an argument here. You are burning yourself out over things that are not real. Your rights are not being squashed here. You are not being obligated to go to war. The Selective Service is mostly a sham, we are not in a position to start a draft and men would refuse to go because the only wars we go to now is against 3rd world countries and terrorist organizations.

Focus on the things in your life that you feel are unfair. Let's start with that. You will have a better time arguing because it will come from a place of experience.

Also, I think you need to focus on positive things in your life because from how passionately you wrote here, I think, for your own mental well-being, you need to stop looking at misandrist content.

Question to OP and the group. OP doesn't like being called "Incel" or "misogynist" but is clearly consumed by a deep hatred of women. It's dripping all over this rant. So what description fits best?

A lot of people like the pill language. I don't. I can't think of a better descriptor than misogynist here, and I'm not sure why OP rejects it.
