Punishment and unequal treatment is a big one. My autistic friend got hit and locked in a shed bullied and when he hit back he was the one who got punished and not her ignoring the fact she hit him first and like x2 his size. Principle was a woman btw as well as my head of year another woman in authority.

I also remember my English teacher asking the class "do you think guys and girls are treated fairly" and all the guys said pretty much the same points as yours. A lesson after this cocky boy in my class was talking about losing his virginity and he was an asshole but the teacher she said he statutory raped her even though she was older than him by a year. I asked did she rape him too and she said it's only a thing that guys do because of the definition of rape.

I mean telling a child he raped someone is fucked up when kids are always going to fuck and also only blaming one sex saying because of your sex you have all the power? bs.

In my experience schools have always presented girls as the “model student”. Teachers would just ignore the basic development that boys go through and try and force them to act like girls. GUESS WHAT? BOYS ARENT GIRLS. Like yes, Boys are gonna be more energetic, rowdy and hyper. It’s just how their bodies are. Punishing boys for developing normally is such a horrible way to deal with it and is honestly sexist

You need to read the war against boys it’s written by Christina hoff Sommers in the first 3/4 chapters it explains how boys are behind in school. The stats she uses are from 1970-2011 but it’s interesting how men and boys are affected in the American education system.

I used to be a teacher.

It's hard to speak generally about specific issues, but I will share my experience with you.

The bathroom was consistently used as an excuse to get out of class to do nothing but hangout in the bathroom, by both boys and girls. This occurred multiple times a class for ever class regardless of age level. Students actively avoiding class using the bathroom as an excuse.

In public education where teachers are responsible for their students eduction and engagement, this type of occurance represents a significant problem.

Attempting to manage the situation by only letting one student, per gender, out of the class at a time resulted in angry students and parents. Sometimes accompanied by complaints to the school which are then translated into verbal warnings for me.

Not exercising any control over this bathroom "loophole" meant that several students were hiding in the bathroom, vaping, fighting, and destroying school property (TikTok trends). This also resulted in angry parents, threats, and reprimands directed at me.

It didn't matter what I did, I was always wrong. Accusations of abuse were pretty quick to come up regardless of the situation or facts. Some female students would resort to this almost immediately.

There is this ongoing trend, and it has been happening for a while, where disciplinary measures for student misconduct are not enacted or followed through with. Instead, the teachers are being held accountable for the misbehaviour of students. This is also coupled with the inability to award the actual grades earned by students - meaning that if a student spent all their time in the bathroom and did no work, they would still pass as the teacher is not allowed to give them a failing grade even if that is what they earned.

What it is resulting in, at least in the schools I've been in is a lot of frustration and resentment between school staff and it comes out on students in some ways, like what you have described. Students who are easy targets for whatever reason get the blast, while those that are actually causing the issues are seemingly exempt.

More frequently, this festering resentment that teachers and other school staff develop from being hated constantly, ends up coming out on each other. It causes working in education to become extremely toxic, hostile, and actually dangerous.

I mentioned above that parents and students were very quick to play the abuse card. Consider for a moment how that type of accusation falls on each gender. Women who are accused of abuse often have nothing really happen. It's an accusation, it isn't true, and life goes on. However, when a male is accused, that accusation often sticks and ends up destroying their life.

For me anyways, teaching became less and less about actually providing an education and helping students develop into mature and responsible individuals and more about "how can I protect myself from not getting accused of abuse, while also balancing the need to at least make it look like I'm managing a classroom and on top of behaviour problems?" Unfortionately that meant that the girls could do whatever they wanted and have no consequences for their actions while the boys were held to a different standard. However, there were plenty of boys that were enabled into belligerent and destructive behaviour with no consequences, as well.

When a female student decided that she was going to shove me (I'm 6 foot and 250 pounds), nearly knocking me over, because she and the rest of the were asked to clean up the mess they had made (utterly obliterated the classroom, materials, and other student property) during lunch, then was back in my classroom the very next day... I quit.

Do kids actually listen to their teachers? If ya gotta go, ya gotta go man. I'd take detention over wanting to piss myself any day when I was in school. They can't stop you.

The bathroom thing at least has an explanation: Periods. When it's time, it's time, and it can sometimes come earlier or later than expected, catching her unprepared. Unlike with bladders, ladies can't just clench their vajayjays and "hold it in." Denying a girl leave to use the toilet when she asks can lead to bloody pants, a biohazardous mess to clean up, and a mortifying experience for the girl.

Girls, especially teens, are usually too self-conscious to mention this openly, and usually just use the excuse of needing to use the bathroom, so teachers can't really assume anything unless they want to risk an incident. I'm sure some girls abuse this fact to get preferential bathroom priority but there's no real way around that without having to ask invasive questions.

In 5th grade there was a girl who constantly lied on me to get me in trouble and the teacher of course believed her.
