Let's stop calling this "child support". It's woman support. It is about applying the full force of the law to make sure that women have control over mens' money.

Why do that? Because this rusty, gas-guzzling machine we call Consumer Capitalism demands that women have control over mens' earnings. Women buy the useless horseshit we see to "keep up with the Joneses". Women are the main targets of advertising. Without women's frivolous spending, our economy is toast.

Expect a tax on single, childless men at some point.

You missed up the really fucked up part. In most cases not paying spousal or child support is prosecuted as "Contempt of Court", a civil offense. Legal precedent has been set that the government must provide you with an attorney but only in criminal not civil cases!

the Court held that “where as here the custodial parent (entitled to receive the support) is unrepresented by counsel, the State need not provide counsel to the noncustodial parent (required to provide the support).”

Ultimately, I do not think that Turner v. Rogers will change family court civil contempt proceedings all that much. The non-payers will not have court-appointed lawyers, but they will be specifically asked whether they can pay. After hearing the usual excuses, and perhaps requiring some sort of proof, the judge will doubtless often still find that the defendant can pay and is in contempt for not doing so. The forms will be filled out completely. The deadbeats will go to jail, and then many of them will find, beg or borrow the money to pay, and they will be released from incarceration, only – in many cases – to repeat the cycle.

Same shit in Canada. They'll throw you in jail if you can't pay your child support or alimony. You also stay in jail until you can figure out how to pay. Which is slightly ironic, because you can't work from inside of a jail cell.

it's sort of stupid, charging someone for being in jail. What are you going to do if I don't pay up? Send me to jail?
