It depends on which "friend" category the woman put you in:

Only platonic friends (no sexual chemistry)
Friends (have chemistry but not strong enough to act on)
More than friends (pretending to be friends, but strong sexual chemistry but usually there is some type of dealbreaker that prevents the relationship from moving forward)
Temporary friends (pretending to be friends, but not sure whether to move forward or not, but using the friends label in order to not put pressure on each other whilst getting to know each other)

The question is not whether such things revive, but even if they do would you or rather should you be waiting for them. The straight answer is no. But does that mean, you don’t give a shot when the opportunity presents. No again.

Go on with your life. Attack/ create high impact opportunities. Go for the kill. What it does is, it demonstrates high value without the neediness. But requires patience.

happened to me. had the "what are we?" talk and said person claimed they weren't interested romantically but wanted to remain friends, yet things almost immediately started to change and the (seemingly sudden) lack of interest was very clear on their end. it's now going to be 3 months since no contact with eachother. sucks, but it's best not to hold on to the idea or wait for them to be ready/available because they might never be and that isn't fair to you. optimism tends to lead to disappointment, so move on with no expectations and if it does happen down the road that's awesome but if it doesn't at least you won't be let down.

One time I was texting the girl but not doing anything irl, then I actually asked out and got rejected, so I stopped texting her for a few months. But then I texted her again work related ( we were colleges, which I don't recommend), next day she was giving me fuck me eyes. But we're colleges and seeing each other everyday so that probably affected it. Also if you are wondering, it didn't work out in the end, she was talking about marrying and stuff ( didn't effect the work life much for me, but I still don't recommend it ).
