Im (M25) new in town and went clubbing this past weekend with a few new friends. I met a girl (maybe 23) at the club i thought was cute. I thought we hit it off well, i bought her a “celebratory drink”, since she just graduated and was also new in town. We exchanged numbers, i got her number and texted my name and she showed me the text on her phone.

Next day i texted saying, “it was fun meeting you last night. Maybe i can buy you that next drink for your next accomplishment”. She hasnt texted back yet. I took it as she isnt interested and if she texts back great if not then move on. You win some you lose some.

A friend of mine who asked me if i had texted her told me maybe the text wasnt inviting a text back. That i should text her again asking her out. With a legit question. Like “hey i heard this place is good, you wanna go here this weekend with me?” And if she still doesnt reply then that should be a more definite no.

I felt like the first text was inviting enough but my friend has me second guessing. On one hand i dont wanna be the guy who didnt get the memo and kept pushing. On the second hand maybe she’s a bad texter and forgot about it.

Ill probably send the text at the end of the day if she still doesnt reply.

I wanted to get a take on this. Should i send a 2nd text asking her out?
