I've never really had much success in this area. Last night, my friend and I went to a bar to meet up with his friends (4 guys and 1 girl, including me and my friend). The girl was cute (a 7) but pretty basic and boring (spent a lot of time on her phone). What's worse is that she brought 2 orbiters with her because she lacks female friends.

Anyways, she showed some interest my remarking on how I was significantly taller than the 3 other guys in our group and I responded by teasing her about being on her phone all night. I could tell she was at least semi-interested when she complimented all 3 of the guys who were with us on their hair and said mine was too long (a test to see if my frame would break, imo, because the other guys were visibly uncomfortable and awkward). At this point I made the mistake of taking her coat off and dancing with her, and the jaws began to shut. The other guys pulled her away and started trying to rope me into stupid conversations to distract me. At this point things pretty much fizzled, as I could not continue flirting with plausible deniability (everybody knew I was trying to fuck -- it was obvious). I basically stayed silent until she ended up walking away. I ended up talking to a random 6 and taking her home that night, so it was not a TOTAL loss, though.

I felt a little blind-sided by this whole experience. I definitely was taking on a situation out of my depth. I have no idea what I could have said/done to seal the deal with 3 guys standing there scrutinizing my every move. I tried being friendly with them and making conversation to reconcile them a bit, but this was a total loss. Does anybody have a success story in a similar situation that they can share/any advice?
