That's a bit of misunderstanding about pickup. I used it and I'm currently using it pretty successfully but you or guys, in general, shouldn't see dating that it's all about pickup. Okay in opening you have to do pickup to get her attention and get her to participate in a conversation but after that, it's a simple get-to-know-you stuff, and pickup help to move things forward and tells you how to convey yourself in the best possible way so pickup it's just a slice of a cake but it's not the whole cake

I think some guys take pick up as this constant approaching women, tricks and gimmicks to get laid but it's really just dudes trying to learn how to have a conversation with a girl.

I agree maybe, especially for more shy/introvert guys who learned pickup before they could learn how to be more social but it's just like baseline communication between 2 people. I also learned pickup before I started to be more social but I'm glad that I didn't fall into that category

This is an interesting post. A lot of 'dark psychology' pick up techniques are most suited to securing casual sex.
After months and years, everyone will grow tired of the inauthenticity, the emotional distance, lack of vulnerability and the hot/cold cat-and-mouse game. What may start as a 'challenge', loses its novelty and becomes emotionally destroying and deeply unsatisfying.
