I’ve been in an LTR for 2 years and all I can say is she’s not bad looking but definitely not worth the hassle. She is crazy about me but, to name a few things, she:

  • constantly talks and overshares, to the point where it’s difficult to carry a conversation with her because she doesn’t really ask about me, and doesn’t respect my social cues of cueing her to stop talking
  • is super emotional and even considers it a good thing, so that when I offer some constructive criticism 99% of the time she gets sad and guilty, instead of searching for solutions and implementing them
  • is terrible at follow through: there are projects on her back burner for 6+ months.
  • insufferable: when I ask her to do even very simple, small things she’ll respond with, “why don’t you just….” It’s so fucking annoying.
  • she’s just really fucking annoying, it’s impossible to get her to follow advice, a task I need her to do that she didn’t think of herself, pay attention in a conversation, pay attention to the task I asked her to complete, pay attention to me (the attention to your partner that is necessary to really get to know them, through and through, help them, and provide the right support without them even asking for it), pay attention period.
  • she just recently told me that it’s not possible for her to do anything she doesn’t innately want to do. Even if logically she can see the value, she can’t convince herself to do the thing
  • obviously, she has adhd, but she seems to have just committed herself to being adhd, instead of working on it with diet, exercise, journaling, forming good habits, etc The only good things are:
  • not bad to look at
  • the sex is good and daily
  • she is really quite impressed by me and attracted to me
  • she’s intelligent
  • when she does actually do something, she’s passionate about it and does it very well.

I’ve resolved to break up with her, but it’s not the right time yet. My question is, how can I talk to people about the relationship once it’s over? People will definitely ask, and if I just say she was super annoying, t without elaborating, they’ll think I’m an asshole. I don’t want everyone to think I’m a big douche.
