First field report. Earlier this week, I set a goal for myself to talk to 10 girls. I had spoken to 0, kept making excuses to myself when I was out. I woke up with a different mindset, today. Decided I will walk up and talk to at least 3 girls. The weather was pleasant. 55 degrees, dressed nice and hit the mall. I roamed around the mall for an hour but nobody really struck my eyes. I decided I will take it to the streets.

As I stepped out, I saw a girl (let’s call her A) sitting at a distance, looking at her phone. There was also another girl (B) who just sat down a lil further than her and opened a book. I couldn’t decide whom to approach but I stuck with A!

I walked up to her and said ‘Hey! You struck my eyes. I just wanted to say hi!’ She wavered for a bit but decided to talk to me. I asked if I could join her and sat down, looked at her and smiled. I deliberately waited to see if she would say anything. Lo and behold, she starts talking about the weather to fill the silence. A few seconds in, we are cracking jokes and laughing. I can see her face turn red. She is clearly enjoying the conversation. She told me she was there for an interview that was gonna start in 10 mins. I used that opportunity to ask for her number. ‘In that case, I would like to see you again. Can you fill this form for me?’ and handed my phone to her with the new contact page. She keyed in her number with her first and last name! I wished her all the best and she smiled and said ‘Shoot your shot!’.

My takeaways - Positives - kept the conversation light and about her or us - successful in getting her laugh multiple times - kept the flirty vibe going on

Negatives - asked if I could sit down instead of simply sitting down - forgot to remove my mask to show her my face - when she teased me of potentially stalking her, I went blank for second but just smiled - ignored her when she asked me what I was doing (don’t know if this was good or bad)

I didn’t achieve my weekly goal of talking to 10 girls nor my daily goal of talking to 3. However, I used today’s outing to read social queues, and how to better pick up on IOI’s.

Btw, I am an Indian who is 5’5 with an accent and decent looks. A and I wouldn’t have definitely matched on a dating app, I am sure of that.
