What I tell everyone - learn to accept and like who you are and own your shit so you are not ashamed of your past. Learn to respect yourself. Your opinion of you should be more important than a woman's (or anyone else's) opinion of you.

Accept that you are a man and as a man you have certain privileges and burdens (such as being responsible for everything that happens between you and a woman from approaching to having sex with her) and be happy about doing them. Don't be like one of these guys who constantly complain that women are this or that and why aren't they approaching me and blah blah blah. You are the man, you have a job to do. The good news is that this puts you squarely in charge so you call all the shots (she doesn't).

I think you're attracted to people with high emotional intelligence. You have seen a lot of evil misdeeds in your young life and you want to make the world a better place for people. You also have a bit of a bad boy playful streak and generally like to call people out on their BS. You try to do the right thing when no one's looking. You long to be understood but people only see the perfect image of you, and you feel that can't share your vulnerability with others. You're also a good friend and will go above and beyond for the people whom you care about in your life. You like to hide behind joviality because you have seen too many members of your family in argument, and you're usually the diplomat who brings everyone together with a well-timed joke. You were loved by your mother and hence that love that was given to you as a child, you want to return the same to the people around you. You rather focus on the good, rather than the bad, but want to protect people from those whom you think are doing bad. You like to have fun, but you have a lot of worries in your life.

Ask yourself why you want to pick up a girl at a club. Ego boost? Just to say you’ve done it? Are you sad and just want to distract yourself for a night? It’s a little bit greasy and definitely dangerous as you have no clue where that girl has been or if she has anything or what her intentions are. Be careful man
