In a nut shell;

I’m 21 and she just turned 24 IIRC

  • I work at a temporary random job just for the money until I land a new job that’s relevant to my degree

  • new girl joined few months ago, talked a little bit, I only do part time so we didn’t always get to talk because of that and due to the nature of our work (we get thrown around the department often)

  • fast forward to now, I decided to be more energetic and enthusiastic (as people at my workplace feel the opposite as it’s a morning shift, so people are tired, I know from experience) so that the time goes by quicker and it’s more fun.

At the start my coworkers tried to embarrass me and say something along the lines of “she has a boyfriend”, but now when I talked with her about something she mentioned an ‘ex’ (ofc she could be mentioning somebody from a while back, not necessarily the same person)

  • she seems kinda shy and slightly awkward and is definitely an over thinker (I guess they go hand in hand), but after you start the conversation, it usually flows smoothly.
  • I’m hesitant to escalate in case I don’t land a new job soon and things turn awkward, and on top of that, I don’t know how to as im very inexperienced, with that said, I did make sure to make the conversations more loose by just goofing around getting her to laugh, used some form of innuendos and at some point saw her blushing and it was quite obvious. We have pretty similar views on some topics we’ve touched (I suck ass at introductions and escalation, but I’m great with some deeper topics) and she seems down to earth, but it’s just that I don’t know whether I should be reading any of this as a good signal or just normal friendly behaviour.

What should I be looking for and is there anything else I should consider doing?
